FOR SALE: Philadelphia 76ers?

My day wasn't going so well...and with this news, it doesn't seem to be getting any better...

Apparently and
according to ESPN.com, the Philadelphia 76ers are up for grabs, and an investment group led by Apollo Global Management's co-founder Joshua Harris, 46, is near a deal to acquire the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers from Comcast-Spectacor.

Shocking many Philadelphia basketball fans and media alike, the 76ers were not known to be on the block.

As of 2010 and according to Forbes, Apollo, founded in 1990, is reported to be worth approximately $67.6 Billion, and Harris a mere $1.5 billion.

It’s not clear how much the sale of the 76ers would be worth, but earlier this year Forbes also pegged the franchise’s value at $330 million, making it the NBA’s 17th most valuable team.

Over a five year period, attendance ranked in the bottom quarter of the league. And as for the 2010-2011 season the 76ers posted a slight operating loss of $1.2 million and brought in $110 million in revenue.

Other investors in the apparent 76ers deal include private-equity executive David Blitzer, who is an exec with the Blackstone Group and former NBA player agent and Sacramento Kings exec Jason Levien, ESPN reported.

Under the apparent Harris-led deal, Comcast-Spectacor, which is a unit of Comcast, would continue to operate the Wells Fargo Center, the home of the 76ers.

NBA Trade Rumor: Andre Igoudala for Monta Ellis

Straight Up.

Player for Player. Nothing complex about the deal.

According to Ric Bucher, ESPN correspondent, the NBA's Golden State Warriors and Philadelphia 76ers have discussed a trade that would swap Ellis and Iguodala.

Their contracts are within 125% of each others, meaning the players could indeed be traded straight up without involving any other players.

The Sixers would receive a younger shooting guard to start alongside budding point guard Jrue Holiday and the less-than-sensational Evan Turner (no shade). They would also land an elite scorer, which no doubt, we lacked last year when Elton Brand led the team in scoring with 15.6 points per. That stat line makes me sad.

Ellis is also two years younger than Iguodala, which means he would likely reach his prime around the same time as Philadelphia's core. BIG plus for a young team, and an organization leaning on more potential than talent and experience.

Sources close to Iguodala have suggested that he would welcome a trade.

Golden State doesn't lose out by any means.

They would add size, athleticism and most importantly, perimeter defense! Giving the young Stephon Curry another offensive weapon...not to mention more of a green light system. New head coach Mark Jackson pitched to management while interviewing for the job...DEFENSE first, and he would definitely get that with Iggy on the wing. The Warriors have also made it clear that they want to win now and expect to make the playoffs next season. Bringing in Iguodala could speed along that process.

When the Warriors hired Jerry West, he made several comments that seemed to foreshadow an Ellis trade...

"I've seen teams trade players that score tons of points and people say, 'How in the world can you trade that player?' " West said. "Because he might score tons of points and the team doesn't win."

"Monta Ellis is a fierce competitor," he later added. "He competes his fanny off every night. I love to watch him play, but to me, size helps. Size helps."

Last season, Ellis averaged 24.4 points, 5.6 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 2.1 steals. Iguodala averaged 14.1 points, 6.3 assists, 5.8 rebounds and 1.5 steals.

Although the deal is far from done, it's a rumor that seems to make sense for both teams, and more realistic than any trade ever rumored involving the two. Stay logged in on SCREAMATME.com to see how it all goes down.

Big Sean Mixtape BEFORE Finally Famous: The Album

Big Sean does it.

#pause

But Finally Famous: The Album has gotten pushed back more than LeBron's Hairline! With the album now set to drop on June 28th, the BIGgest name out of Detroit since Henry Ford and Marshall Mathers has decided to bless our ears with a little something while we patiently wait...let's call it an appetizer.

XXL Magazine conducted an interview with the G.O.O.D. Music artist more recently... “We might do a little something strictly for the fans. For the people who’ve been riding with me. I hate to be confined to like putting 10 or 11 songs on the album. So I’m just trying to flood the market. I’m trying to do it big,” he said.

“There’s a lot of songs that couldn’t make the album, there’s a lot of songs that couldn’t get sample clearances and sh!t like that. I was really pissed off about it. A lot of people couldn’t be on the album,” he continued. “I’m going to do something special for the people, man, it is what it is.”

Sean went on to say that we wouldn't be receiving the usual 15+ track tapes he usually gives up: “Not too many. It’s going to be strictly for my fans. I usually drop like 20 songs on the tape, but it’s probably going to be like nine or 10.”

I think this sounds like a win. Especially when the buzz for Sean's album is bigger than ever. This has been done before: SEE Trey Songz' Anticipation mixtape, and so on...

Only time will tell how successful the young MC is though. But until then...
