Is this what happens when you've reached your peak in rap? I remember when I thought Jay-Z reached his peak back in 2006 with the release of Kingdom Come. He had already fake-retired, and the project's roll out was disappointing. However, the best rapper alive, bounced right back the following year, with the release of American Gangster, and I was a believe again.
Shifting our focus to the subject at hand, Lil Wayne, in my opinion has delivered consecutive lackluster projects with Tha Carter IV and now I Am Not A Human Being II. He never disappoints 100%, but once you've delivered at such a high rate over such a long period of time, the expectation for your artistry develops. Fans, critics, close associates and media expect more after each win.
I'm afraid to say, this one may have been a loss.
Lil Wayne's new album "I Am Not A Human Being II" is in stores now, but is it worth picking up? Find out here on #TheTruth and tune in Wednesday 3/27 at 4:00 EST for a live Google Hangout with Elliott.
