Lakers To Sign Gilbert Arenas?

With the Lakers obviously needing an addition at the PG position. Sources say they are interested in signing free agent, Gilbert Arenas.
The Lakers starting PG is 37 years old (Fisher), Steve Blake is injured and may miss a few weeks, and rookie PG are at times hot and cold, but inexperienced.
Sources say the Lakers have scheduled a workout, and interview with Agent Zero. Concerned of his old habits, and off the court issues? Yea so are the Lakers, but this may be the perfect place to start over for Arenas. With veteran Kobe Bryant being a commanding leader for thes Lakers, long with veterans like Fisher this may be an ok experiment.
I don't expect an all star caliber Arenas, but the fact that teams lack interest in him, may be motivation for him to rejuvenate what could be his last chance in the NBA. We'll see.

Heated Much: Lakers vs. Clippers [1.25.2012 Highlights]

We at Team SCREAM AT ME HQ didn't want our audience to think we missed this Wednesday night...

What happened? In short...testosterone. The Clippers want to desperately prove their legitimacy and the Lake show will be the Lake show...and probably beat the Clippers more often than not.

The break down:
- 6 Technical Fouls
- 1 Flagrant Foul
- 1 Ejection
- 12 tumbling bodies
- Multiple heated conversations throughout the game

How did it end? Lake show pulled out the win, 96 - 91. Oh, and Pau Gasol's "soft" play got him 23 points and 10 boards. Surprised? I'm not.

AP Reports Eric Gordon Chalks The NBA

Yes, the NBA owns the New Orleans Hornets...and Eric Gordon just so happens to be the most talented player on the team. A few days ago, owners offered Gordon a contract extension. The Associated Press says that meeting went a little something like...

“Guard Eric Gordon has turned down a four-year extension offer from the New Orleans Hornets, according to a person familiar with the situation. The person, who spoke to The Associated Press late Wednesday night on condition of anonymity because negotiations had not been discussed publicly, didn’t disclose the financial terms of New Orleans’ offer. Gordon, who turned 23 last month, came to New Orleans as a key component of a multi-player trade shortly before the regular season that sent four-time All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Under NBA rules, the Hornets had until midnight Wednesday to come to terms with Gordon on an extension in order to prevent him from becoming a restricted free agent after this season. Because of his bruised right knee, Gordon has played in only two games this season, including New Orleans’ season opener, when he hit the winning shot to cap a 20-point outing in Phoenix. He bruised his right knee in that game and attempted a comeback on Jan. 4, when he scored 22 points in a loss to Philadelphia. Speaking shortly before the Hornets saw their season-long losing streak reach nine games with a 101-91 setback in Oklahoma City, Hornets coach Monty Williams said Gordon is expected to sit out at least three more weeks.”

Welp, that's that. Rumor has it, Indiana is thee best position to scoop the young guard for next season. Time tells all.

I Was There: SEPTA Trolley Crashes Into Car

So this morning, I thought I was on my way to the office. I actually thought I was going to be early. Until a SEPTA employee pull up to me and a band of other potential patrons, to announce to us that "that trolley is going to be a while." Did I mention it was freezing?

Two people suffered minor injuries after a trolley crashed into a car in the Kingsessing/Southwest section of the city. It went down around 8 a.m. THIS morning. SEPTA officials report a Route 13 trolley collided with a car on the south side of 57th and Chester. Fortunately, no one inside the trolley was hurt.

Trolley service for Route 13 has resumed after a brief disruption. Passengers should expect residual delays while full operations are restored, according to SEPTA.

In short, take another route like I did.

Watch This Throne: Chris Rock x Dave Chappelle Tour???

I heard rumors in Hollywood swirling around these two headlining acts. Chris Rock reported to NYMAG.com that Jay-Z and Kanye West have inspired him to explore the possibility of touring with fellow comedic titan, Dave Chappelle. That would be HUGE and I would go see it... yesterday.

"I've been talking to Chappelle a lot. Been trying to get Chappelle to go on tour. You know I'm not the hard one," he said, laughing. "But I'm trying to make that happen. After seeing Kanye and Jay-Z, I was like, 'Me and Dave should do this.'"

Billboard.biz reported yesterday that R&B star and actor, Shaffer "Ne-Yo" Smith, Jr. is moving his Compound Entertainment imprint to Motown Records. In addition, he is on board as in-house producer and Senior VP of A&R. Sounds like a power move for both sides. Ne-Yo had this to say...

"I'm honored that I¹ve been given such a prestigious title and trusted with such responsibility; terrified because I know that playing this role in the fashion of one of my career role models, Mr. Smokey Robinson -- these are big shoes to fill. But trust, I can handle it,"

Barry Weiss, Universal Republic & Island Def Jam Motown Chairman and Chief Executive, had this to say...

"His track record of success at Def Jam will always be a benchmark, but this move to Motown will provide new and inspiring challenges for Ne-Yo as both an artist and a key member of the new senior management team that is taking form at the label in 2012."

Ethiopia Habtemariam (pictured above with Weiss and Ne-Yo) was appointed senior Vice President of Motown early second quarter FY11. This position was formerly occupied by President Sylvia Rhone. Habtemariam concurrently serves as executive VP/head of urban music for Universal Music Publishing Group. She had this to say...

Remember where you were on January 22, 2006? Most people don't, but if I ask you do you remember where you were when Kobe scored 81 points, that may refresh your memory.

On 1.22.06 Kobe dropped 81 points on the Toronto Raptors, the second all time single game scoring total, under Wilt's 100. To do that in this era is unbelievable, and I am not sure if Kobe gets the credit he deserves.

People may say he is a ball hog or whatever, but most people don't know the Lakers trailed by 18 points before Kobe hit 5 straight 3s to bring them back into the game. The game was close and Kobe closed it. Scoring 81 points and shooting 60% from the field!

So we at screamatme.com recognized this date and paid homage to KB24. Check the highlights out below.

The Silent House [Movie Trailer]

One of the better trailers I've seen in a few years probably. Also known as La Casa Muda this film was originally a Uruguayan Spanish-language horror film released in 2010 - directed by Gustavo Hernández. Our rendition looks like it will be well worth the translation. I may go see this when it hit theaters March 9th. I wonder if the theater will keep the lights on for me...

Why You Should Go See Red Tails...

Wasn't sure if SCREAMATME.com's audience caught my earlier post on the fearless, commemorated film, Red Tails". I've been a vocal supporter since I first saw the trailer. The email that I received via Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated this morning reinforces my intention...

You Might Be Wondering Why...

...that big black box is sitting at the top of the site right now. Here's why: Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House of Representatives, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business.

The Senate begins their voting process on Tuesday, January 24th.

Here's what YOU can do: Sign this petition which urges Congress to vote NO on PIPA and SOPA before we all wake up to the government knowing your whereabouts...I mean, it's not as if they don't already know your whereabouts, but let's at least make them keep that a #fakesecret.

For clarification though, Team SCREAMATME.com thoroughly believes that the members of Congress are attempting to "do the right thing" by actively going after pirates and counterfeiters on the web. However we're just not convinced SOPA and PIPA are the best way to do that.

More details...

1. SOPA and PIPA would censor the Web

The U.S. government could order the blocking of sites using methods similar to those employed by China. Among other things, search engines could be forced to delete entire websites from their search results. That’s why 41 human rights organizations and 110 prominent law professors have expressed grave concerns about the bills.

2. SOPA and PIPA would be job-killers because they would create a new era of uncertainty for American business

Law-abiding U.S. internet companies would have to monitor everything users link to or upload or face the risk of time-consuming litigation. That’s why AOL, EBay, Facebook, Google, LinkedIn, Mozilla, Twitter, Yahoo and Zynga wrote a letter to Congress saying these bills “pose a serious risk to our industry’s continued track record of innovation and job-creation.” It’s also why 55 of America’s most successful venture capitalists expressed concern that PIPA “would stifle investment in Internet services, throttle innovation, and hurt American competitiveness”. More than 204 entrepreneurs told Congress that PIPA and SOPA would “hurt economic growth and chill innovation”.

3. SOPA and PIPA wouldn’t stop piracy

To make matters worse, SOPA and PIPA won’t even work. The censorship regulations written into these bills won’t shut down pirate sites. These sites will just change their addresses and continue their criminal activities, while law-abiding companies will suffer high penalties for breaches they can’t possibly control.

There are effective ways to combat foreign “rogue” websites dedicated to copyright infringement and trademark counterfeiting, while preserving the innovation and dynamism that have made the Internet such an important driver of American economic growth and job creation. Congress should consider alternatives like the OPEN Act, which takes targeted and focused steps to cut off the money supply from foreign pirate sites without making US companies censor the Web.

The Son of Mars combines some classic Jordan kicks. The Elephant Print toe box and heel come from the Jordan 3. The Midsole and tongue are from the Jordan 5. The heel tab and ankle cushion are that of the Air Jordan 6. And as you sneaker heads may have guessed, the strap of the Air Jordan 20! The color way is a white/grey/club purple.
