Lamar Odom is Leaving the Dallas Mavericks

Sources reveal that Lamar Odom and the Dallas Mavaricks have agreed to cut ties for the remainder of the season. LO will not be formally waived, or released, but has been granted permission to leave the team. The Mavs will place LO on the inactive list rather than release him. The Mavs will be able to trade him at the end of the season by not releasing him.

Even if Odom was to be released and signed by another team, he would not be able to participate in the Playoffs because he was not waived before th March 23rd deadline. Lamar's decision was made in order to give him time to clear his head, and to prepare for next season.

LO has recorded career lows since becoming a member of the Dallas Mavericks early this season. He was traded by Lakers due to the fact that he was displeased with the Lakers dealing him for Chris Paul, which eventually was blocked by the League. Odom could not deal with the fact that LA was willing to trade him, thus requesting a trade days later, which landed him in Dallas.

Where will LO's career go from here? Maybe he should have just stayed with LA.
