I've been meaning to put this up for a while... Elliott Wilson usually drops jewels whenever he's given the opportunity. And when he's not given the opportunity, he creates one, or two, or three...
Check him out in this recent interview with Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club
With Summer Jam right around the corner, Nicki Minaj returned to HOT 97. The goal? Well, it seems Peter Rosenberg and crew (shout out to EBro) kind of wanted to clean things up with the megastar.
While there, some apologies were exchanged, and feelings laid out. Nicki shared her beliefs about focusing on music again, spreading herself too thin while recording her sophomore effort, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, but expressed a sincere gratitude regarding her recent power moves, citing American Idol as "the biggest television show in America" and mentioning her interactions with actress, Cameron Diaz while shooting the upcoming The Other Woman.
It was a solid interview. Although there were moments where Rosenberg sounded like a fan more than anything, making statements like "I want to thank you." "She made me more poppin...just by sheer proxy in dealing with her." "I don't know if you remember any of our previous, brief interactions...you don't remember?" I understand positions here, but one year ago Rosenberg made a bold statement...and he would've gotten more cool points from me - even though I am aware those points aren't necessarily redeemable - if he would've stood firmly by his actions. I don't know...just my thoughts. But you press play and be the judge...
And just like that ladies and gents, beef squashed. Just in time for its anniversary. How's that for a vicious story line?

Elliott Wilson weighs in on J. Cole's latest FreEP, Truly Yours 2. After dissecting every track, it's evident Cole has something special to offer with his upcoming, Born Sinner slated for Tuesday, June 25th.
In case you weren't aware, Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter served as the executive producer to the soundtrack of what may be the most anticipated film of the year in The Great Gatsby.

Janelle Monaé and Erykah Badu are both capable of producing some magnificent art. It was only right for me to press play. The video is about 6 minutes long which is longer than the standard, but I promise you won't notice.
As if no one warned you; J. Cole's Sophomore effort, Born Sinner is set for a June 25, 2013 release. I must say, I'm proud of the young guy. He has done his thing. His debut performed well...actually, better than expected, and wasting no time, he managed to knock out what is seeming to be yet another hit. Way to go.
With all of that, Monday, Cole released some new material... "Cole Summer" which features the ill Lauryn Hill x D'Angelo "Nothing Even Matters" sample. I say it's pretty dope, but you should take a listen for yourself...
