On Saturday March 5, 2011 over 1,500 people attended the DMV Hip-Hop Awards, which took place at the Hyatt Regency in Crystal City, as they looked to celebrate their native artists and their accomplishments at the 5th Annual Hip-Hop Awards but the event turned into chaotic brawl when several fights erupted amongst rival crews.
It took a turn for the worst during the intermission, when rival Hip-Hop crews began to beef, in what became a 60-man brawl in the middle of the hotel. How embarrassing is that?!
According to Detective Crystal Nosal, five people were injured in the large brawl, but no arrests have been made, although the investigation in ongoing.
DC representative, and hip-hop heavyweight, Wale took to Twitter to urge the D.C. scene to organize and unite.
