She explained that the program is just another step to continue her sobriety from drug and alcohol use. After releasing a highly popular album in 2009, Houston has faced criticism for her onstage and off stage antics. Critics and fans alike claimed that her voice sounded both strained and hoarse. In addition, many have speculated that Houston may have relapsed and that is her reasoning for returning to rehab. Whether she has or she has not is not the issue, hopefully she can get herself back to the Whitney Houston, we all know and love.
