Rapper, Missy Elliott has found her way back to the spotlight. But this time not in a manner that she, or any of us would like to see. Missy Elliott has been diagnosed with Graves' Disease. She was diagnosed in 2008. Graves' is an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid.
Missy has been receiving treatment for the disease over the past 3 years. She has been receiving radiation treatment. Missy says she experienced most of the diseases symptoms; hair loss, rapid heart beat, dizziness, and mood swings. She also has lost 30 pounds.
Missy said, "My thyroid is functioning, so i haven't had to take medication in about nine months." Missy also stated that her symptoms were so bad at one point that she was unable to drive an automobile.
