"Wale! Wale! Wale!"
Yup. The District of Columbia's own, Wale tore the Theatre of Living Arts up last night (Thursday, August 11, 2011), as droves of fans crowed the already narrow South street curb for admission. By the time Team SCREAM @ ME arrived, the venue was close to capacity...and the FREE Heineken was flowing. Free food, beautiful people (especially the women!), and Dj D-Nice on the 1s & 2s. What more can you ask for…
Sneakerheads, bloggers, entrepreneurs both young and old, and good music fans of all ethnicity gathered as D-Nice killed the warm-up. When we walked in we were greeted by two especially attractive Heineken models on the Green Carpet...word to @ShizzLakerFan...and what appeared to be unlimited hoagies and cold pizza (word to me).
The venue was jumping, and "packed" would be an understatement. Although Wale, not pronounced "whale," was probably on the stage for no more than 30 minutes, he and his supporting cast left everything they had on the stage. Special guest appearances by Black Cobain, Tre and Young Chris kept the crowd on their toes and the show electrifying.
He took classics to the stage with him such as "Nike Boots," "90210," "Pretty Girls" and "Break Up Song." He even rocked out with his most recent release "Bait" featuring DC GoGo Band TCB. And although Maybach Music Group usually travels in a pack, this go they gave Wale the space he needed to hold it down solo dolo. He performed label mate, Meek Mill's latest smash "I'mma Boss" ...the crowd snapped. He then performed Wocka Flocka's Billboard bullet, "No Hands"...the crowd snapped again. All of this with a migraine.
We look forward to watching him grow as an artist and develop his show, with each opportunity. As should you…
