Various media outlets reported that the Houston born singer gave birth to a baby girl on Saturday, January 7 in New York City. The birth was said to have taken place on the Upper East side at Lenox Hill Hospital. After Beyonce announced her pregnancy, she refused to give the due date. The singer claimed that she wanted her baby to come into the world safely without all of the paparazzi mayhem included. So safely in fact that Beyonce and her rapper hubby Jay-Z were said to have spent 1.3 million dollars to have the whole fourth floor of the hospital for themselves. In addition, the baby’s name is either Ivy Blue or Blue Ivy Carter. Beyonce or Jay-Z’s camp has not commented. However, that has not stopped celebrity friends of the couple from tweeting congrats to the new parents. Rihanna and Russell Simmons were amongst the celebrities who tweeted well wishes. Once the baby girl makes her public debut, I am sure everyone will be watching.
