For those of you who were expecting Kobe Bryant to come out firing on all cylinders to compete for the NBA scoring title in his season finale tonight VS Sacramento, you are in for a huge disappointment.
Kobe Bryant will rest for the final game of the season, which will leave him in the #2 spot for the NBA Scoring Championship.
Coming into tonights game Kobe averaged 27.9 points per game, being Kevin Durants 28.0 Kobe would have needed 38 points tonight in order to become the NBA Scoring Champ. Kobe stated in a recent interview that the scoring title held little importance to him, and that the ultimate goal is to win the NBA Championship. This will e the 3rd scoring title in a row for Durant.
Laker's coach Mike Brown, also decided to sit Andrew Bynum, and Pau Gasol for tonight's game.
The Lakers will open the playoffs this weekend at home against the 6 seed Denver Nuggets.
