Helping Out the Gamer,
Sports Games
Sports Games, like fighting games tend to evolve over time as to how they are played until the next version of the game comes out. Normally since all sports games are updated every year, developers listen to the hardcore among the crowd and change the game according to what they see needs a major change. Additionally one has to remember there will always be exploits in a game, it is just how you have to learn to compensate for them that makes the differences. Sports games are different than fighting games because they require a dedicated amount of time to play and if you play them you already know you are in for the long haul so let’s start.
Since the genre of sports gaming is so vast and tips are hard to give for uniformly this week’s column will focus on Madden games.
1. Training Drills: Though these drills seem silly for those who just want to get right into the game, the training drills help you become a better player by pointing out exactly what you are suppose to do with each player on the field. This may sound silly to some, but not everyone knows exactly how to be a good QB, or a proficient runner. By going through these drills you learn the game better and you learn your personal weaknesses and strengths.
2. Playbook is key: Sure it is fun to try every team and use different playbooks, but for those who really get into Madden, they all know it is directly about your playbook and how well each team can execute it. This area is also of great debate because it also focuses on personal strengths and weaknesses. You must take this into consideration when selecting which to use and it is important that you find one that greatly compliments your personal play style
3. Audibles save games and drives: Audibles are an important part of football and therefore they are also an important part of Madden. You should always custom set your audibles and make sure they are your bread and butter plays. Make sure you have a balanced attack and know how to use your controllers to adjust your formations, blocking, direction of play, and routes of your wide receivers. This is a lot and it takes time, but when done properly you can look like Peyton Manning yourself on every down adjusting and changing your plays to throw your opponents off. It is annoying to play against but if utilized it can be a great mental advantage to have on your side.
That is it for this week on Sports Games kiddies, See you guys tomorrow for RPGS. Good Gaming
