After leading the San Antonio Spurs to 50 wins in this lockout season (66 games), the announcement came Tuesday. 16-year veteran coach, Gregg Popovich was named the 2011 - 2012 NBA Coach of the Year. Pop also won the award in 2003 when San Antonio won its second of four franchise championships.
The Breakdown:
Popovich received 77 first-place votes.
Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau came in second with 27.
Indiana Pacers coach Frank Vogel placed third with 7.
Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins placed fourth with 6.
Honorably, Boston Celtics' Doc Rivers and the Denver Nuggets' George Karl each received a single vote.
