Broadway Bound: More #MeloTradeTalk!!!

So…

The Denver Nuggets are down to the wire on completing their highly publicized, and anticipated trade to send Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks! [Cue Spike Lee].

A league source reports this Yahoo! Sports.

The deal was not done, but an agreement could be reached as soon as Monday night, the anonymous source reported; Believing the two sides have proceeded too deep into negotiations to shy away from that Thursday 3 p.m. trade deadline!

The Knicks have apparently offered to send Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler and the Knicks’ 2014 first-round draft pick to Denver.

The Knicks would also trade Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry’s expiring contract to the Minnesota Timberwolves, who would send Corey Brewer to the Nuggets. The Knicks would receive Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams and Renaldo Balkman.

The Nuggets requested on Saturday that the Knicks also include center Timofey Mozgov in their trade package. Denver could then reroute some of the pieces in the trade – including Mozgov – to the New Jersey Nets for draft picks.

Are y'all confused yet? It's not that bad...

Nuggets president Josh Kroenke and general manager Masai Ujiri had preferred the Nets’ offer for Anthony, which was built around rookie forward Derrick Favors and four first-round draft picks, but Anthony has been unwilling to commit to signing a contract extension with the Nets. Way to make your presence felt.

Nuggets coach George Karl has pushed team officials to make the deal with the Knicks over a straight trade with the Nets because it would better position the Nuggets to contend for the playoffs this season, a source with knowledge of Denver’s plan reported earlier.

I know George Karl wants to get this headache Tylenol-ed already. The unofficial second half of the season tips off as soon as tomorrow…and the entire Denver Nuggets organization should just want to move forward. Let's enhance the NBA! LoL. Although, as a devout Sixers fan…I do not look forward to seeing Amere, Melo and company FOUR times a year.

SCREAM @ ME!!!
