Work For Skype

Skype announced earlier today that the company expects to hire 350 people between now and the end of 2011. Send your resumes.

Many of the hires will be placed at Skype’s new offices in Palo Alto, a spokesperson told Mashable. The company is looking “to add super star engineers to our already super talented team” at that office, she added.

The company recently acquired video-calling service Qik for a rumored $100 million. Pocket change. Skype has also rolled out a number of new services as of late, including video calling on Apple mobile devices, for you iPhone 4 users.

It makes sense that the company will need additional engineering talent. Skype is becoming a household brand. My grandmom used it this past Thanksgiving to connect with her family down south. I was at a gathering Saturday and we used it to connect with one of the group members who couldn't make it out due to adverse weather conditions.

Currently, 85 openings are listed on Skype’s careers page.
Keep doing you thing skype.

PA High Schoolers Take Bullying Too Far

It saddens Team SCREAM @ ME!!! to have to report this...

Upper Darby Police arrested six high school students at school earlier this morning on charges of kidnapping and assaulting a 14-year-old student.

Seven students who attend the Opportunity Center at the high school kidnapped, beat, and hung a 14-year-old upside down from a tree until he fell face first, Upper Darby police superintendent Michael Chitwood said in a press conference Monday.

Chitwood reported this is the worst case of bullying police have ever seen. "They are lucky they did not kill [the 14-year-old]."

Still searching for the seventh student, police rushed into Upper Darby High and handcuffed and escorted the six students out of the building. Good. Morning.

Chitwood said that surveillance video shows the students hanging the student, as well as a woman walking by as the kid is screaming for help and she did nothing!

“I find it offensive when cops say cops don’t do anything...and not one person called 911," said Chitwood.

All of the students arrested on assault and kidnapping charges are juveniles and will be sent to the Lima Detention Facility, according to Chitwood.

The police report reads the 14-year-old victim did not suffer any serious physical injuries.

NBA Coach gets Fired!!!

The Pacers dropped to 10th place in the eastern conference. They lost 7 or the last 8 games. This recent slide was the icing on the cake for Head Coach Jim O'brien, he was fired this morning. Coaching decisions and criticizing players publicly has also been an issue. Assistant coach Frank Vogal will take over as interim Head Coach.

O.J. Mayo Suspended 10 Games

It's been a rough NBA career for Grizzlies guard O.J. Mayo, since before he even laced up.

The league office announced earlier today (1.27.11) that Mayo has been suspended for 10 games for violating the terms of the league’s anti-drug program. He tested positive for the "over-the-counter" steroid dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA).

Back in 2009, Washington Wizards forward Rashard Lewis tested positive for the same drug and was suspended 10 games. Lewis claimed he tested positive for an over-the-counter supplement, and Mayo claims the same. I'm not sure what to believe...

Performance-wise, Mayo is having the worst of his three seasons in the NBA, averaging just 12.2 points on 40.8 percent shooting. He was moved to the bench in an effort to stimulate the Girzzlies’ reserve scoring but has had a tough time adjusting to his new role.

He also reportedly got his ass kicked by teammate Tony Allen, over a card game during a team flight. SmH.

Mayo’s suspension will begin with Friday’s game against the Sixers. He will be allowed to return Feb. 15, the Grizzlies’ final game before the All-Star break.

I like OJ Mayo. I thought he would come into the league on some LeBron type-hype. We've been reading about him since he was 14 years old. Add to that the fact that the Griz aren't necessarily the best team in the League...I can only imagine the pressure. Stay focused boy, I'm rooting for you.

Will, Jada & Jay-Z Collab For Movies

This combination is dangerous. I don't even think I understand how crazy this could get. Overbrook Entertainment, Will & Jada have teamed with Shawn Carter to produce major motion pictures, the first being the modern-day rendition of the 1982 classic "Annie," which is set to star RocNation signee, Willow Smith.

Although the project is still in its preliminary stages, it will be developed with Sony Pictures Entertainment and produced by Overbrook and Jay.

This partnership between Will and Jada and Jay-Z began when the POWER crew decided to invest in the hair and beauty line Carol's Daughter. Their next venture together was when they joined forces again to co-produce the Broadway play "Fela!" Of course in addition to Willow, who is managed by Overbrook Entertainment's own, Miguel Velendez

"The Overbrook Entertainment family and I have a unified vision. We've already produced a Tony Award-winning play and we're developing a true superstar in Willow," Jay noted. "This venture into film development and production is a perfect next step with teams that are accomplished, creative and innovative."

How crazy is this? Do stories like these motivate you like they motivate me? As if I require any more. SmH.

Sounds like a POWER MOVE in the making…

NFL Commish Will Take Pay Cut Down to $1

National Football League commissioner, Roger Goodell, will cut his own salary down to $1 if there is a work interruption after the collective bargaining agreement expires in March.

Now Goodell, who makes about $10 million a year including bonuses, said in a memo to his staff Wednesday that chief negotiator Jeff Pash will do the same. Pash makes nearly $5 million a year.

To show this is no joke, Goodell has requested the league's compensation committee to delay any bonus payments to him until after a deal is reached with the NFL Players Association.

"Let me emphasize that we are fully committed to doing everything possible to reach a new collective bargaining agreement without any disruption to our business," Goodell said. "The entire senior leadership team stands with me in its commitment to resolving the CBA issues with the player's union."

"While several other executives have also volunteered to make additional reductions to their compensation, I have asked them not to take that step at this time as we continue our negotiating efforts."

Union chief DeMaurice Smith has predicted the owners will lock out the players after the March 4 expiration of the contract with the league.

NFLPA communications director Carl Francis was not impressed by Goodell's memo.

"I have been around long enough to know that this decision is irrelevant to the process," Francis said. "He should also guarantee there won't be a lockout."

Sheesh Francis. I thought that was a commendable act…I guess not.

We'll keep you posted on it.

$1,500 a day, to HOMELESS? See which American Gladiator can Relate

Remember the show from the early 90's called "American Gladiators?" Well if you do most likely you remember "Storm" also known as Debbie Clark. Storm made $1,500 a day during her run as an American Gladiator. She became a Gladiator in 1991. This was until she tore her ACL in 1993.

Well now Clark is homeless and has nothing to show for her moments of being in the celebrity spot light. After her career ending injury. After the injury Clark spent her money trying to better herself and to find a career. She is not the alcoholic, drug abusing story you may expect. She spent money pursuing a career as a Country music singer. She also went to culinary school and was a person trainer.

Clark also spent thousands on vitro-fertilization to have a child. This was a success and now Clark's son Crayton is 10 years old.

She has hopped back in forth from homeless shelters, and domestic violence shelters. But her knee injury makes it almost impossible to walk the streets during the day hours to find a job. She did odd jobs until her knee made it impossible to continue.

Clark has recently crossed paths with Sean Sheppard the CEO of an organization that helps the less fortunate. Hopefully he can help her get back on track. Sheppard is also trying to help her get in contact with her Gladiator Teammates from the past.

Response to 2011 State of the Union

As speeches go there were a lot of highlights of President Obama's 2011 State of the Union address but where does this leave the American people. Obama's vision of a better future for American children, workers and the economy sounds not only realistic but achievable. I give it to Obama he has the ability to hold any audience captive. Although missing were details about how his administration planned on tackling America's many growing problems. The president's ideas of compromise and a bi-partisan government appear to be less realistic to Republican and Tea Party political figures. If the new speaker of the house John Boener's reactions to many Obama points is shared by Republican leaders, we will be in constant debate with little or no real movement on America's issues. The president's SOTU address lays out the expectation of a government that less polarized and more towards working together. Really? How do you make adults behave civilly. The struggle to achieve this goal of unity has been difficult throughout the last two years and appears to be worsening. Within seconds of the SOTU ending there were various Republican and Tea Party politicians criticizing the president. Did they even have a chance to digest his words? This does not seem like the rhetoric of a party that's willing to compromise unless the type of compromise they want is one-sided. The president must realize that we are not in a political culture that's conducive to finding the middle ground. He must make the decision to stray away from the middle and be faithful to his goals regardless of opposition. He must show himself as a president who is willing to be stubborn and selfish in order to achieve his stated goals. Obama loses that edge for the thought of a bi-partisan government that doesn't exist yet. He must abandon this idea in order to make real change. President Obama is not just one man with one vote; he's the one man with the biggest vote. Its time to stop playing the great facilitator and start being the fearless leader.

Grand Piano found on Miami Sandbar???

Ok. Where do I start this ridiculous article?

The Miami Herald is trying to tell me that a mysterious piano just appeared on a Miami sandbar. Discovered this morning, the piano was strategically placed at the highest point of the island to avoid aggressive tides. Did I mention it has to weigh at least 650 to 700 pounds?

Wait it gets better...the piano will stay put.

"We are not responsible for removing such items,'' said Jorge Pino, a spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. "Even a car can become a habitat for wildlife. Unless the item becomes a navigational hazard, the Coast Guard would not get involved.''

Marine patrols of both the North Miami Police Department and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the same thing.

Who did this? I'm not sure to laugh or just shake my head... When I think about it though, it's pretty damn funny. Check the video courtesy of the Associated Press below...

Verizon's iPhone: $30/per month Unlimited Data Plan

Add another plus in the Verizon's iPhone column.

The Wall Street Journal reports, the company will offer customers a $30 per month plan with NO data restrictions.

AT&T on the other hand did away with its unlimited data option for new customers last year and currently offers 2GB of data for $25 per month. Before you start the rift raft, some older customers had unlimited plans grandfathered, y'all don't count.

AT&T customers are also currently required to pay an additional $20 per month for tethering.

Verizon's iPhone also serves as a mobile hotspot for up to 5 devices. How dope is that? Customers may have to pay extra for that feature, it has not yet been determined.

Of course, there are still some advantages for the AT&T iPhone, most notably its ability to handle both voice and data simultaneously, but that comes with the new 4G network. Give Verizon some time to implement that...they will, no worries.

Verizon should be revealing more intricate details about pricing and plans later today as the company announces its earnings. Stay logged in, as Team SCREAM @ ME!!! keeps you posted on it.

Video: David West Beats OKC Thunder

Watch as All-Star Forward David West of the New Orleans Hornets, puts a buzzer beating end fade-away to Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder. With the win, the Hornets winning streak has been extended to 9 consecutive games.

SIDENOTE: West, who can opt out of the last year of his contract this summer, reiterated his position on waiting until season's end to make any decisions on staying or signing an extension. General Manager Dell Demps made an extension offer to West's representatives, however West noted that an extension offer "has always been out there. But just in terms of making a good business decision, I'm not sure that would be smart. I've been saying the same thing: I'm just going to wait until the end of the year, and I want to make the best decision I can make in terms of my future."

David West, don't look for the national media attention or $$$ that Lebron was worth this past summer. Playing this Free Agency game is dangerous and can sometimes leave you unemployed. You are a good basketball player, but sometimes it takes more than that to get what I think you may be looking for. I mean, honestly, nobody buys tickets to see David West play. Make yourself a household name...and then we can talk.

50 Cent vs. World Star [Update]

Yeah… is back up and running. It must have really been a server issue or some sort of other technical difficulty.

To completely discredit 50's claims, Q,again that's the CEO over at, reminded listeners that the site had been down before. "We were down in '07 because we got hacked. We got hacked last year and we've also had problems with our band with before," he said.

Q also gave 50 Cent a shout out for the "good promo," although he admitted that he and 50 do have personal beef due to miscommunication and a "falling out a while back."

But what I can't figure out is, why Curtis had to lie? He is the definition of capitalism. He sees an opportunity to promote or sell something…he's on it. No questions asked. No second guessing.

On a heavier note, this video below is crazy. Fif got at Q, and it was pretty bad.

Here's what we didn't hear...

Hey Q, we don't know each other, but I think you should not let ANYBODY talk to you like that. Not if you want to call yourself a man…no, no, no…it doesn't work like that.

#BigUps to my team for keeping me up on the story real time, World Star, 50 Cent, and everyone else involved!

Video: Kobe Bryant is "The Black Mamba" [Trailer]

Kobe Bryant and the Nike Basketball division have linked up with the likes of Director Robert Rodriguez, Bruce Willis and Danny Trejo to release "The Black Mamba," a short-film set to drop February 19, 2011.

50 Cent vs. Worldstar

Q, Chief Executive Officer at

Ok, so 50 Cent just got on the phone just minutes ago to speak more on his POWER MOVE against online titan, World Star.

“They’ve been put to bed as we speak,” Angie Martinez, HOT97 go-to personality. “When you destroy you should destroy completely. That’s one of the laws,” he continued, [
The 50th Law].

He told Martinez that the case is expected to go to court in two weeks... CEO, Q, also spoke with Martinez, denying ALL claims that 50 or Homeland Security had ANYTHING to do with the site's alleged temporary collapsing. ”It’s a technical difficulty,” he said. “We’ve been down before.” Q said the site should be up and running shortly..."shortly," meaning 24 hours or less.

Like I said before, I'm not sure to believe this or thing is for sure though, Team SCREAM @ ME!!! is all over it, so stay logged in as this story develops, as I'm sure it will.

I didn't...still don't...want to believe this.

Now, I'm not a big fan, not as much as my friends. I may check in every once and a while, but I prefer,, and myself...but when is the last time you checked in?

For those who don't know, the popular hip-hop, video hosting site went down just moments ago today, without warning.

Recently, rapper 50 Cent took to Twitter and his 3.8 million followers, taking credit for the site's collapse, addressing rumors that the site was seized by Homeland Security, like other notable websites in November of 2010 and earlier this month (,

In November of 2009, 50 filed a lawsuit against the website, claiming his image and content was used on the website without permission.

Just to clarify, will not be one of those websites scorn by 50's wrath. We are in good standing. Keep checking in...LOL.

And oh yeah, if it comes to light that this is indeed the truth, 50 is a monster and us "regulars" should be afraid. I'm just sayin...

#BigUps @PhillyScreen for putting me up on the story.
