Chris Paul is a Los Angeles Laker!

LA receives: Chris Paul

New Orleans receives: Lamar Odom, (Possibly Louis Scola or Kevin Martin maybe both, and draft picks)

Houston receives: Pau Gasol

Some pieces are not all the way in place but an agreement is set. The Lakers now have Chris Paul which fills a major void at the PG position. They do lose Pau Gasol, who is a great PF but had a lackluster playoff performance. They also lose 6 man Lamar Odom.

The Lakers are still in talks to land Dwight Howard for Andrew Bynum this would put them atop the league amongst the favorites to win it all!

Shannon Brown To Phoenix Suns

According to ESPN, unrestricted free agent and former Los Angeles Lakers guard Shannon Brown will sign a one-year, $3.5 million deal with the Phoenix Suns.

This past June, Brown opted out of his contract with the Lakers for the 2011-12 season that would have paid him approximately $2.4 million. At 25, he had played for four different teams in his first four seasons. He just started to find his role as a back up to Kobe Bryant just 2½ seasons ago in L.A.

He averaged a career-high 8.7 points per game in 2010-11, along with 1.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

Look for the deal to go through Friday around 2 p.m. ET, when the league's gives the green light to teams and players to conduct this type of business freely under the new collective bargaining agreement. A source familiar with the Lakers' thinking told last week that L.A. has interest in Boston free agent guard Delonte West and Indiana free agent forward Josh McRoberts.

Miami Heat to Sign Eddy Curry

The Miami Heat and Eddy Curry have agreed to terms, which will lead to a signing on Friday.

Miami wanted help down low and they signed Curry, who only played 10 games in the past 3 years. He is said to have a good relationship with LeBron and has been getting prepared for training camp with the Heat all summer. But due to health issues and various injuries he has not played a full season since 2007-08.

We'll see how much he can contribute soon enough.

Shane Battier Headed to MIAMI!

Shane Battier has tweeted that he intends to sign with the Miami Heat on Friday when free agency signing begins.

Other teams who were in talks were, Orlando, and San Antonio.

Battier expressed that he wants to go where his best chance of winning is, out of those 3 teams, Miami is obviously the best fit.

Miami now has a deeper bench, a good defender, and 3 point threat, nice pick up Miami.

Celtics make BIG offer for Chris Paul

The Celtics reportedly showed interest earlier last week in Chris Paul. Rumors said they wanted to send Rajon Rondo in exchange. Well now they made an offer, possibly the best one yet.

The C's offer Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green, and 2 draft picks for the Hornet's all star PG, Chris Paul.

The only question is, will Paul sign an extension at the end of the season? It has been reported that he was not interested in signing with Boston before the official offer was made. But Boston may take the risk, if KG and Ray Allen go at the end of the year that frees up $ for some max salary signings.

But it seems that Paul is only interested in signing long term with NY and LA. But the best offers are from LA (Pau Gasol) and from Boston.
