More Hologram: Marilyn Monroe

Hey Tupac, you're not the only who can make holohistory.

Looking like Marilyn Monroe will be hitting the stage ... as a hologram ... according to the Hollywood Reporter. A company called Digicon Media is behind the planning and production and the show is still in the very early stages (no secured venue OR specific date yet and copyright issues still exist), however, the intention is to run the show by the end of the year. The show will include actual living performers chiming in, although an invite list has yet to be publicized.

Working title: Virtual Marilyn Live — A Musical Celebration of the Birth of the Pop Icon.
Digicon Media’s spokesperson, Becky Altringer, said the concert is meant to mark the beginning of virtual Marilyn’s career as “a performer, spokesperson, cultural pundit, and computer avatar.” So if the concert ends up becoming a huge success, we’ll probably see more of Ms. Monroe. But do you really want to see deceased celebrities (think Elvis Presley, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, and Freddie Mercury) brought back to life as holograms on stage, or is that something you find creepy and unsettling?
SCREAMATME.com will keep you up on the details...
